Andrei Kapashi Creates 3D Game Worlds from Novel Sentences
Andrei Kapashi has unveiled the results of an AI experiment that creates a three-dimensional game world from a single sentence of a novel. On the 2nd, Kapashi shared the process of this experiment on X, stating that he input the first paragraph of "The Lord of the Rings" into the Anthropic model 'Opus 5' and instructed it to convert it into a 3D world using the JavaScript library Three.js with a budget of one million tokens. The cost was around $10. After about two hours, over 5,500 lines of code were generated, but several errors were found in the output. Kapashi explained that this task is different from simple image generation, as it involves the model understanding the relationships between scenes and characters, and placing object coordinates in three-dimensional space, making it closer to the game development process. He mentioned that the possibility of AI creating a 'custom game' that generates desired worlds on the spot could be feasible, but pointed out the limitation that he could not verify the world created by the model through direct gameplay. This sharing emphasizes that Kapashi's personal experiment allows individuals to repeat what was previously only possible for a few developers at the cost of a cup of coffee.
