Anthropic in Negotiations to Acquire Decart for $6 Billion
Anthropic is in discussions to acquire real-time AI infrastructure startup Decart for approximately $6 billion. The deal is in the negotiation phase, and the amount and structure are subject to change. Decart is an AI infrastructure company that provides low-latency inference and real-time world models, and it recently secured a $300 million Series B investment. On April 20, Anthropic announced an expansion of its compute collaboration with Amazon, planning to invest over $100 billion in AWS technology over the next decade. Additionally, in May, it signed a $45 billion compute contract with SpaceX. The acquisition of Decart is interpreted as a strategy to enhance compute efficiency, and Anthropic is expected to strengthen its infrastructure costs and hardware optimization capabilities through this acquisition. Anthropic informally submitted documents for a U.S. IPO on June 1, with the possibility of going public in October. Currently, both companies are private, and there has been no confirmation of stock price reactions related to the acquisition discussions.
