Anza Announces Agave v4.3 Release Plan, Activating Alpenglow and Other Features

The Solana core development team, Anza, has announced the release plan for Agave v4.3. This version will activate the Alpenglow consensus protocol, new system calls (SHA512 and large integer modular exponentiation), and enhance CPI depth. The testnet is expected to open for suggested node upgrades on August 17, with feature activation starting on August 24; the Beta mainnet is expected to solicit volunteers to transfer 10% of their staked assets to v4.3 on September 8, and 25% on September 14; on September 21, it is recommended that the Beta mainnet fully adopt the new version, with feature activation beginning on September 28. All dates are subject to change.
