Bitcoin, stablecoins, RWA, meme coins, and infrastructure are being priced by five completely different logics. The "crypto market" is no longer a unified whole. Understanding this stratification is more important than simply judging bull or bear markets.

    Written by: Zeuspace Yao Kun

As Bitcoin is incorporated into the macro asset framework, stablecoins evolve into on-chain funding bases, RWA meets the demand for real asset allocation, while meme coins are still driven by attention and risk appetite, the term "crypto market" begins to lose its precision. Today's crypto world resembles a patchwork of several parallel sub-markets with differing pricing logics. Understanding this stratification is more important than merely judging bull or bear markets.

    I. Why the Term "Crypto Market" is Becoming Less Accurate

For a long time, people have been accustomed to viewing the "crypto market" as a whole: when Bitcoin rises, high-elasticity assets follow; when new narratives emerge, funds rotate between sectors. This framework was valid in the early market—few asset classes, a simple participant structure, and liquidity driven by the same batch of funds.

However, today, this premise is failing. ETFs, stablecoins, RWA, infrastructure, and meme coins are gradually forming different sources of funding, usage scenarios, and valuation methods, making the "crypto market" increasingly resemble a whole driven by different logics. Bitcoin is no longer just the "leading coin" within crypto, stablecoins are increasingly not speculative assets priced by narratives, RWA's growth logic is closer to real asset allocation, while meme coins continue to express high-elasticity risk appetite.

The past understanding that "a new story drives the entire market" is marginally losing its effectiveness. Different assets are now required to answer different questions: some must prove they are macro assets, some must prove they are funding infrastructure, some must prove they can meet real demands, while others continue to rely on attention and liquidity pulses for survival.

II. Different Sectors are Being Priced by Different Logics

Putting all crypto assets into the same valuation framework often leads to misjudgments. A more accurate approach is to break the market down.

Bitcoin is increasingly being incorporated into the context of global macro assets. Its price fluctuations are increasingly influenced by ETF inflows, dollar liquidity, interest rate expectations, and risk asset sentiment. For institutions, Bitcoin resembles a macro risk asset with high volatility characteristics. This is why Bitcoin's movements can no longer simply represent the entire crypto market.

Stablecoins, on the other hand, operate under a completely different logic. Their core is not in price fluctuations, but in usage frequency, settlement efficiency, and distribution networks. Stablecoins serve functions such as on-chain payments, settlements, collateral, cross-border transfers, and funding parking, acting as the foundational infrastructure of the crypto world. Their growth logic is not narrative premium, but network effects and financial interface penetration.

RWA meets the existing asset allocation demands of the real world. Whether it’s U.S. Treasuries, money market funds, or tokenized stocks, the core is not to invent new stories, but to redistribute existing yields and exposures from off-chain to on-chain. Its demand is not created on-chain but is transported from the established real financial system to on-chain.

Meme coins are still primarily driven by attention, risk appetite, and short-term liquidity. They are the most direct expression of market sentiment, resembling high Beta risk positions. Their most important function is to provide price elasticity, narrative imagination, and short-cycle gaming space.

Infrastructure projects exist in another dimension. DePIN, AI computing networks, middleware, and data protocols are increasingly not satisfied with being "technically feasible" but are more concerned with whether they have real revenue, can deliver stably, and whether they have enterprise-level adoption paths. These projects are transitioning from "concept assets" to "revenue-validated assets."

These five sub-markets share the same set of technological infrastructure, but their asset attributes are becoming increasingly different: some are aligning with macro assets, some are fulfilling funding layer functions, some are acting as institutional interfaces, some maintain high Beta speculative attributes, and some are converging towards growth-type assets. It is no longer realistic to understand them with the same logic.

III. Why This Stratification Will Become More Obvious

This change is a result of the evolution of market structure.

First, institutional funds show significant preference differentiation after entering the market. Institutions do not use the same logic to buy Bitcoin, stablecoins, RWA, and meme coins. For different types of funds, the purpose, risk exposure, and holding intentions of assets are completely different.

Second, the functions of on-chain products are beginning to differentiate. Stablecoins serve the funding layer, RWA is close to the asset layer, Bitcoin is incorporated into the macro framework, meme coins express risk appetite, and infrastructure projects enter the phase of commercial validation. After functional differentiation, a unified valuation framework becomes harder to establish.

Third, regulatory and institutional environments are pushing for clearer asset attributes. Which are closer to commodities, which resemble securities, and which bear payment and settlement functions—these boundaries, though contentious, are no longer completely chaotic.

Finally, the market is no longer driven by a single narrative. In the past, a new concept could lead to a universal rise across the industry; now, the same narrative may only apply to a small segment. The market has not lost its imagination; rather, different assets are increasingly required to answer different questions: where does the money come from, is the demand real, how is value solidified, and who bears the risk?

IV. The Future Crypto Market: More Like a "Multi-Market Patchwork"

If this trend continues, the most important ability to understand the crypto market in the future may no longer be to hit the next unified narrative, but to return to a more pragmatic question: what layer of this stratified structure is the asset in front of you located?

Bitcoin will continue to macroize; stablecoins will continue to infrastructure; RWA will continue to institutional interface; meme coins will retain high Beta attributes; infrastructure projects will continue to accept revenue validation. They will all be placed under the umbrella of the "crypto market," but the logic driving them is no longer the same.

This does not mean the market has lost its integrity, but rather that its internal structure is becoming more complex and mature, closer to the "asset stratification" state of traditional finance. In the future, discussing the crypto market will not only involve judging bull or bear markets but also answering: which market does the asset in front of you belong to, and what logic should be used to understand it?

Identifying which sub-market the asset belongs to and what logic drives it before discussing its price direction—this sequence may be more important than ever before.
