Bloomberg: Crypto Exchanges Capture $800 Billion in Financial Market
Bloomberg's report indicates a blurring of the lines between cryptocurrencies and the global financial market. Cryptocurrency exchanges are gaining significance in trading traditional instruments such as stocks and commodities. The monthly volume of perpetual futures contracts surged from $23.5 billion in November 2025 to $778 billion in August, representing an increase of approximately 33 times. In August, perpetual futures contracts based on traditional assets accounted for 23.5% of the total volume on major crypto platforms, compared to just 0.5% ten months ago. Investors are increasingly interested in real assets, not just cryptocurrencies. Traders are shifting their focus to stocks, which are currently exhibiting greater volatility than Bitcoin. Crypto exchanges are beginning to offer perpetual futures on various assets, including silver and oil. Meanwhile, traditional finance is adapting solutions from the crypto market, such as 24/7 trading. Coinbase has filed a request with the SEC to introduce 24/7 perpetual futures on stocks for American investors. The integration of blockchain technology with traditional finance is ongoing.
