Claude Users at Risk of Cryptocurrency Theft
Users of Claude should exercise particular caution as scammers are exploiting this tool to steal cryptocurrencies. Cybercriminals infiltrate conversations in Claude and distribute malware disguised as files that appear to be ordinary documents. In recent weeks, dozens of cases have been reported where users received links to download malicious files. This software steals passwords, browsing data, and login information for cryptocurrency wallets. In one instance, a user received a link leading to a site impersonating a legitimate service, from which malware was downloaded. Scammers also used a fabricated SKILL.md file that caused malware to reinstall every time a project was loaded in Claude. Those most at risk are those who store their wallet login information on their computers. Experts recommend keeping wallet data in a secure place and being cautious when downloading files from artificial intelligence.
