Ethereum Foundation Sponsors WPPT 2026 Workshop
The Ethereum Foundation is sponsoring the WPPT 2026 workshop, which will be held in Hong Kong. This workshop aims to support research addressing the transparency of public blockchains and user privacy, with the goal of expanding beyond the developer community into the academic field. The Ethereum Foundation is currently soliciting abstracts related to privacy protection technologies, and WPPT is a research workshop that focuses on the intersection of cryptography, blockchain, and data privacy. Privacy protection technologies are essential for maintaining public verifiability while ensuring that users do not reveal their raw data. A representative technology is Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP), which is a cryptographic technique that proves the truth of specific conditions. The Ethereum Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports ecosystem development, with its main activities centered around protocol development and research support. In the second quarter of 2026, the Ethereum Foundation allocated scholarships and event support to the Blockchain Technology Research Center at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and this workshop sponsorship is interpreted as a trend to broaden discussions on privacy technologies. WPPT 2026 is scheduled to take place in Hong Kong this year.
