Follow the Money: Over $3 Billion in Investments, Acquisition of Global Ledger, and a Quiet Corporate Sector
Between August 1 and August 8, 2026, Incrypted recorded 14 investment deals. These include investments in venture funds, traditional rounds, mergers and acquisitions, as well as other forms of capital raising. Details are known for eight of these, with a total funding amount of just over $3 billion.
Classic Venture Deals
In this category, we recorded a total of 12 deals. Among them are the following projects:
$2 billion --- Index Ventures. The venture firm announced the raising of this amount for its three funds. The total assets under management of the organization reached $3.5 billion. The portfolio of Index Ventures includes Physical Intelligence, Fireworks AI, and Anthropic. It also invested in Wiz, which was previously acquired by Alphabet. Its stake is valued at $3.8 billion.
$575 million --- South Park Commons. This is the company's fourth venture fund. A distinctive feature of the firm is its focus on pre-seed stage startups with a stake of up to 15% in portfolio organizations. The focus is on companies in the field of physical AI and advanced technologies.
$250 million --- White Star Capital. The company successfully closed its fourth venture fund. It will focus on supporting global startups at stages from A to B. The organization's portfolio includes Butternut Box, FINN, and Vention.
$40 million --- Yellow Card. The company completed this round with participation from such counterparties as SC Ventures, the venture arm of Standard Chartered, Sony Innovation Fund, Polychain Capital, and Blockchain Capital. The studio collaborates with banks to provide payment processing in stablecoins. The service contrasts with the SWIFT system.
$9 million --- Vangrid. The Dutch startup developing a DePIN network for deployment on smartphones announced the completion of its seed round. It was participated in by HashKey, Borderless, Crypto.com Capital, Animoca Brands, Gate Labs, and Mapleblock.
$6.3 million --- JPYC. The issuer of the eponymous stablecoin pegged to the yen completed an extended Series B funding round, bringing the total amount of funds to 6 billion yen ($38 million). The investor was Z-COM Maruwa Holdings. JPYC is the first regulated stablecoin in Japan, launched in October 2025.
$1 million --- Yooldo. A Web3 gaming platform that combines blockchain games, on-chain asset ownership, and AI tools, aiming to make interaction with Web3 as simple as possible for ordinary players. The ecosystem includes its own products, multi-chain infrastructure, AI/MCP integrations, and tokenomics. The investor was FZF Ventures.
In some cases, parties announced support but did not specify the amount or other details.
In particular, Ripple Labs funded two infrastructure providers for tokenizing real-world assets (RWA) --- ZILO and Licuido. It is assumed that these companies will become part of the institutional blockchain of the XRP Ledger.
The prediction market on the BNB Chain, Fortune Protocol, announced the completion of a pre-A round for an unspecified amount. Participants included: MH Ventures, Mapleblock Capital, NewTribe Capital, Basics Capital, and EVERWOOD CAPITAL. The project is developing a liquid infrastructure for betting on event outcomes and integrating AI mechanics into prediction trading.
On August 4, 2026, Blockspace, a provider and developer of infrastructure in the Ethereum ecosystem, announced its market entry. The release also mentions the completion of a funding round for an unspecified amount, which included ether.fi Ventures, Quasar Builder, Sharplink, Breed VC, Luganodes, Stakely, and other community members.
The ZIGChain project announced support from Laser Digital, the investment division of Nomura Group. Details of the deal are not disclosed. The project itself is positioned as an L1 blockchain based on Cosmos, aimed at creating applications and protocols for investment and capital management.
Corporate Deals and Placements
This week, Robinhood began the process of raising funds for its new venture fund --- Robinhood Ventures Fund II (RVII). It is expected to proceed as an initial public offering (IPO), with investors allocated up to 400,000 shares directly from Robinhood. The total volume of securities is 8 million at $25 each. Thus, the company aims to expand retail investors' access to the stock market.
Mergers and Acquisitions
On August 6, it became known that OpenFX had acquired Global Ledger. Details of the deal, including the amount, are not disclosed. At the same time, OpenFX announced the launch of a waiting list for its multi-currency account product, with the first hundred companies joining the waiting list receiving $30,000 in commission credits.

The most active participants in the sector this week were Mapleblock Capital and Ripple Labs. They each had two rounds, while others had one.

This week, the most investment deals were in projects from the CeFi and blockchain infrastructure categories. The third most popular category is blockchain services.
