On August 12, the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers were sold to former Disney CEO Bob Iger and Josh Kushner for a record valuation of $12.5 billion. Although Kushner did not mention the Lakers deal that day, he celebrated another AI-related investment. Thrive Holdings, founded by Kushner in 2025, completed a $2 billion funding round, achieving a valuation of $12.5 billion, with plans to acquire traditional service companies and leverage AI for transformation.
