Luke Dash Jr. Pushes Bitcoin Mining Project CONVOY After Resigning from Ocean

Luke Dash Jr. has stepped down from his positions as Chairman and CTO of Ocean to pursue a new Bitcoin mining project called CONVOY. After discussions on the 30th, Ocean and Dash Jr. decided to part ways, with Ocean purchasing all of Dash Jr.'s shares. Both parties stated that their separation was due to differing visions for the future direction of Bitcoin mining. Dash Jr. plans to continue efforts towards the decentralization of Bitcoin mining through CONVOY. Ocean will continue to operate its existing non-custodial mining pool business, which means that user assets are not directly held by the operator. Dash Jr. had previously announced that he would temporarily step down from his role at Ocean, and this resignation includes decisions regarding the board and executive positions, as well as share liquidation. Dash Jr. has also been mentioned in the recent Bitcoin Improvement Proposal BIP-110 debate, which could lead to governance controversies if conflicts of interest arise between miners and developers. The specific structure and launch timeline of CONVOY have not yet been disclosed.
