Malaysia plans to rely on artificial intelligence chips from Huawei Technologies to drive its sovereign AI project. The country is evaluating the use of Huawei AI hardware as a core component of a RM2 billion (approximately USD 494 million) initiative aimed at enhancing control over national data. It remains unclear how many chips Malaysia will procure, and this move faces strong opposition from the U.S. government.
