Mesh by Automattic Launches on Android Platform
CoinWorld reports:
The relationship management app Mesh by Automattic has begun to open up to Android users. This product focuses on managing personal and professional contacts, allowing users to organize their networks, add notes, and set reminders for follow-up contacts.
Android Version Adds Split Screen and Sync
With this launch, Mesh can be downloaded from Google Play on phones, tablets, and foldable devices. The Android version has been adapted to system features, including split screen, pop-up views, in-app search, desktop widgets, and real-time sync across devices.
This means users can pull up Mesh to view contact information while handling SMS, email, and other applications. For tablets and foldable devices, the app also supports keyboard shortcuts, further enhancing multitasking scenarios.
Integration with Beeper Continues to Advance
Since Automattic acquired Mesh last year, there has been ongoing interest in the integration progress between this product and Beeper. Beeper is an aggregation messaging app under Automattic that connects multiple platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Signal, LinkedIn, Slack, and Discord.
Currently, there is some integration between the two products. Mesh users can draft messages to contacts within Beeper and can also jump to their Mesh profile page through in-app deep links. The company stated that they hope to further combine the two products in the future to enhance the efficiency of managing users' relationship networks.
AI Features Still in Early Stages
Mesh has currently opened early Nexus AI features to some users. Users can directly ask questions, such as who they know working at a certain company, who lives in a particular city, or who has experience in a specific field.
The company is also testing more AI applications, including voice hands-free operation and improved business card scanning features. A co-founder of Mesh previously stated that many users have thousands of contacts across multiple social platforms and work tools, making it unrealistic to maintain these relationships manually; the goal of AI is to help users process this information more efficiently.
From the current user structure, about 70% of Mesh users utilize it for some business scenarios. The company claims that this product is more suitable for managers who need to maintain large teams or high-density relationship networks, but it will continue to address the needs of ordinary consumers as well.
Mesh is currently available for free download and offers in-app purchases. As for whether it will be bundled with Beeper or other Automattic products for subscription in the future, the company has not yet announced specific arrangements.
