Ocean 24-Hour Market Share at 3.14%, Dashjr Sells Stake
Luke Dashjr, a Bitcoin developer, has stepped down from his positions as Chairman and CTO of Ocean and has sold his stake. As of the 30th, Ocean's recent 24-hour block share was recorded at 3.14%. Ocean and Dashjr announced their mutual separation through a joint statement on August 30. The company has purchased all of Dashjr's holdings, but did not disclose the purchase price or the appointment of a successor. Dashjr is pursuing a new Bitcoin mining project called CONVOY, the operational structure and details of which have not yet been made public. As of the 30th, Ocean's recent 1-week share was reported at 2.88%, with mining pool share calculated based on the number of blocks mined during a specific period. Ocean operates as a non-custodial mining pool, adopting a structure that separates the distribution of rewards without directly holding miners' assets. The company stated that it will continue to provide transparent non-custodial mining pool services even after Dashjr's departure. Market attention is focused on whether miners following Dashjr will move to CONVOY. Regarding the BIP-110 controversy, Ocean is known to be the only mining pool that signaled support for the proposal. Currently, Ocean holds a block share of around 3% in both the 24-hour and 1-week aggregates.
