SK Hynix Chairman: AI Drives Significant Growth in Memory Demand
SK Hynix Chairman Choi Tae-won stated in an interview with CNBC that AI is changing the cyclical patterns of the memory industry. In the past, memory demand was primarily dependent on the number of users and devices. However, in the AI era, each person may simultaneously have ten different AI agents, each requiring more memory, leading to a substantial expansion in demand. He believes that while the cyclical nature of the memory industry will not disappear, the current boom may last longer than before, indicating a structural change in the industry. In the short term, customer demand for memory products remains strong.
