SOL Treasury Company Supports Solana Constitution, Opposes Inflation and Fee Adjustments
SOL Treasury Company (HSDT) has announced its voting stance on the first three Solana Governance Proposals (SGP), supporting SGP-0001 "Solana Constitution," opposing SGP-0002 which aims to double the inflation reduction rate, and opposing SGP-0003 which proposes to change transaction fees from fixed to variable. On-chain voting is expected to commence on August 22. The company stated that supporting the Solana Constitution is due to the new governance system allowing every staker to vote directly, enabling holders to override the votes of their delegated operators, which facilitates institutional participation in network decisions. However, regarding the other two proposals, the company emphasized that its opposition is not to the direction but to the timing. The company pointed out that this is a critical phase for institutions considering entering Solana, and they prioritize the stability and predictability of rules. Changing the core economic parameters of inflation and fees at this time may make hesitant institutions even more reluctant. The company expressed that it would support a re-discussion on lowering inflation once it sees a sustained net inflow of funds into SOL and is willing to reconsider the proposal to change fees to variable after the ecosystem adapts.
