STAR Market Companies' Net Profit Grows 437.6% in First Half of 2026, Shanghai Market Mid-Year Dividends Reach 633 Billion Yuan
In the first half of 2026, 2,318 companies listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange achieved a total operating revenue of 26.22 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%; net profit reached 2.82 trillion yuan, up 17.6%, marking the highest growth rate since 2022. Companies on the STAR Market reported a total operating revenue of 1.01 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38.6%; net profit soared to 144.887 billion yuan, a staggering increase of 437.6%, surpassing the total for the previous year. Among the 36 growth-stage companies on the STAR Market, revenue grew by 29.1% year-on-year, while net profit significantly reduced losses by 62.3%. A total of 427 companies on the Shanghai Stock Exchange announced mid-year dividends, with total cash dividends amounting to 633 billion yuan; the six major banks collectively distributed 220.9 billion yuan in dividends, and 16 companies declared dividends exceeding 10 billion yuan.
