Tencent Releases Research AI Hyra, Setting 29 Records in Mathematics

Tencent's Hongyuan has launched the research AI Hyra-1.0, which can automatically propose solutions, conduct experiments, evaluate results, and improve based on experience. It is suitable for tasks such as model development, mathematical discovery, and engineering optimization. The core of Hyra is a lightweight loop where multiple agents generate solutions in parallel. The system runs and scores in an independent sandbox, with feedback written back to the experience database. Hyra can also improve scoring standards when no ready evaluators are available, reducing the chances of agents obtaining high scores through loopholes in the rules. Hyra has set 29 historical best results among 55 collected open mathematical problems, shortening the time for NanoGPT to reach the target loss to 76.4 seconds, and designing a Transformer with only 15 trainable parameters capable of performing 10-digit addition.
