The Number of Non-Bank Financial Institutions in Ukraine Decreased to 738

In June 2026, the number of participants in Ukraine's non-bank financial market decreased by six, totaling 738 as of July 1. The number of banks remained at 59. The National Bank revoked the licenses of two financial companies and one pawnshop, removing them from state registers. As of July 1, there were 389 financial companies operating in the non-bank financial services market, which is two fewer than the previous month. The number of pawnshops decreased from 97 to 96, and the number of insurance brokers fell from 46 to 43. The number of other market participants remained stable: 47 risk insurers, 10 life insurance companies, one insurer with special status, 79 credit unions, one leasing company, and 72 collection companies. The structure of financial groups did not change: 15 banking and 39 non-banking groups. There are 13 payment systems operating in the payment market, of which two are state-owned. The number of payment institutions decreased to 15. In June, the NBU received 171 requests regarding registration and licensing procedures, of which 109 were submitted by financial companies and lessors.
