Tim Draper Supports Apex Growth Accelerator Program for Cardano
Billionaire investor Tim Draper has backed the Apex Growth Accelerator, a 10-week acceleration program aimed at transforming initiatives within the Cardano ecosystem into companies ready for investment. Applications for the program, launched in collaboration with Draper University, Cardano, and Orion Fund, will close on September 1, with a start date set for October 5. The program focuses on startups that have concrete products or business models rather than just early-stage ideas. Draper University describes the Apex program as a growth accelerator designed for ventures ready for investment. Selected teams in the program will gain access to Draper University's network and the opportunity to collaborate with other founders. The financial component of the Apex Growth Accelerator is supported by Orion Fund. This year, an $80 million ecosystem fund launched by Cardano and Draper Dragon was established to invest in companies developing products around Cardano. Draper University aims to create a flow of ventures as the acceleration partner for this fund. Under the current program structure, companies can receive investments of up to $70,000 in exchange for a target equity stake of 3.5%. Organizers state that they are focusing on companies working in areas such as decentralized finance infrastructure and real-world assets. This program could create a new channel for teams developing products on the Cardano network in terms of access to capital and investor networks. Tim Draper is known for his early-stage investments in the technology and crypto sectors.
