Top 1% Investors Sell Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, Buy Inverse ETFs
Top 1% investors have sold Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix and purchased inverse ETFs that are exposed to declines in the domestic stock market. According to a report released by Kiwoom Securities on the 7th, among clients with an investment principal of over 10 million KRW, the top 1% of investors in terms of returns showed that Skylabs ranked first in net purchases, while Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix were among the top net sales. Skylabs, a medical device company listed on the KOSDAQ on the 4th, saw a 135% increase on its first day compared to the public offering price. The top 1% investors also bought inverse ETFs that are exposed to declines in the KOSPI and KOSDAQ, which are designed to generate profits when the index falls. This trading activity is interpreted as a move to secure some profits from large-cap semiconductor stocks and prepare for potential index adjustments. However, the data from Kiwoom Securities reflects the trading trends of a specific client group, so it has limitations in being interpreted as an overall market outlook. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are major semiconductor stocks that influence the KOSPI flow, and the sale of these stocks along with the purchase of inverse ETFs can be interpreted as a signal that short-term supply and demand are moving defensively.
