Trading Volume in Tokenized Stocks Reaches $470 Billion
The demand for tokenized stocks has pushed the monthly volume in perpetual contracts based on real-world assets (RWAs) above $470 billion. June data shows that this market has become one of the fastest-growing areas for crypto derivatives in the first half of the year. The RWA perpetual trading volume was around $85 billion in January, but it surged to over $470 billion in June, marking an increase of approximately five and a half times. At the center of this growth were tokenized stock contracts, with the perpetual trading volume in these products increasing nearly sevenfold between January and June. Contracts based on privately held SpaceX shares stood out in trading activity, while products linked to semiconductor companies like Micron, Intel, and SK Hynix also contributed to the volume increase. Tokenized stock perpetual contracts offer investors the opportunity to take positions outside traditional stock market hours. Binance, Hyperliquid, and OKX accounted for over 80% of the total volume in tokenized stock perpetual contracts in June, with Binance alone reaching nearly 50% market share.
