Transparency at ANSES: How to Consult Budgets, Purchases, and Authorities
ANSES has a transparency portal where anyone can access information about the functioning of the agency, its budget, purchases made, authorities, and other public data. The initiative aims to strengthen access to information and promote more open management.
In addition to the documentation available for direct consultation, the agency offers a mechanism to request public information when the required data is not published. This right is guaranteed by current regulations and can be exercised by any citizen.
It is important to differentiate this type of request from personal procedures carried out through My ANSES, as both processes have different objectives and channels of attention.
Access to the Assigned Budget and Fund Execution
The ANSES Transparency portal allows consultation of information related to the budget assigned to the agency and the level of execution of those resources. It also publishes data on contracts, purchases, tenders, authorities, salary scales, and institutional regulations.
This information is updated periodically and is available to anyone interested, without the need to carry out a prior procedure. The goal is to provide greater visibility on the use of public resources and facilitate citizen oversight.
Is it free to request public information?
Submitting a request for access to public information is completely free and does not require justification for the request. Any citizen can request information held by ANSES that is not covered by the exceptions provided in the legislation.
The procedure can be carried out through the channels enabled by the agency and must contain a clear description of the requested information. Once the request is received, ANSES has a legal deadline to provide a response.
What to do if ANSES does not respond or rejects the request?
If the agency does not respond within the established deadline or rejects the request without a valid justification, the applicant can file a complaint through the mechanisms provided in the Public Information Access Law.
The regulations state that public agencies must justify any refusal to provide information. In case of disagreement with the response received, it is also possible to appeal to the competent authority to review the decision and determine whether to provide the requested data.
Difference Between Personal Consultations (My ANSES) and Public Information Requests
Personal consultations made through My ANSES are related to individual data of each beneficiary, such as the status of a benefit, work history, appointments, or payment dates. To access that information it is necessary to identify oneself with CUIL and Social Security Key.
However, public information requests are aimed at obtaining institutional data about the functioning of the agency and not private information of a citizen. These requests can be made by anyone and are part of the right to access information recognized by Argentine legislation.
Access to public information constitutes a tool to promote transparency and strengthen citizen oversight over state administration. Through the ANSES portal, anyone interested can consult already published data or initiate a request when additional information is needed.
Before making a request, it is advisable to check if the sought information is already available on the Transparency portal. This allows for an immediate response and facilitates access to official documentation without the need to initiate an additional procedure.
In this sense, the ANSES Transparency portal serves as a useful tool for accessing official information quickly and orderly, without the need to initiate complex procedures. Consulting first the already published data and, if necessary, making a formal access request allows exercising this right more efficiently and taking advantage of the channels that the agency makes available to citizens.
