Trump Urges Swift Passage of CLARITY Act
Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, has called on the Senate to expedite the processing of the "CLARITY" bill, which defines the structure of the digital asset market. He emphasized the need for the U.S. to maintain its leadership in the competition with China over digital assets and artificial intelligence (AI) while honoring the late Senator Lindsey Graham. On the 13th, Trump urged the Senate via Truth Social to pass the CLARITY bill and send it to him, mentioning that Graham was a strong supporter of this legislation. This week is expected to be a turning point for the processing of the CLARITY bill, with the House also set to hold related hearings. However, Democrats and Republicans have yet to reach an agreement on whether to include provisions to prevent conflicts of interest related to digital assets in the bill. Pro-digital asset Senator Cynthia Lummis has also backed Trump's request.
