Ukraine Allocated $10.5 Million for Agricultural Harvest Storage
International partners have confirmed the allocation of $10.5 million for the temporary storage of harvests from small and medium-sized agricultural producers in frontline regions of Ukraine. Prime Minister Sergey Koretsky stated that the funds will help farmers acquire the necessary equipment and address the issue of harvest storage, especially given the complications with exports. Ukraine is also considering, in collaboration with the World Bank, the possibility of attracting an additional $25 million to expand the support program. The government continues negotiations with international financial organizations to increase assistance to agricultural producers affected by Russian attacks in the Black Sea region. Support for the agricultural sector is crucial for maintaining production and ensuring global food security. Ukraine has exhausted its quota for duty-free wheat supplies to the EU, which reduces the competitiveness of Ukrainian grain in the European market.
