Upgrade of the "Kelmentsy - Larga" Border Crossing with Moldova
In the Chernivtsi region, the upgrade of the automobile border crossing "Kelmentsy - Larga" on the border with Moldova has been completed. The use of modern modular infrastructure has improved the working conditions for control services without the need for major construction. Previously, border and customs officers were located in metal trailers that did not meet modern requirements. Now, new modular facilities have been installed, the road surface and canopies have been repaired, a sanitary zone has been arranged, and an autonomous sewage and water supply system has been established. The infrastructure has been adapted for people with limited mobility. In light of security threats, special attention has been paid to the protection of civilians and service workers. Responsible agencies have been tasked with providing shelter for the border crossing and proposing measures to enhance the protection of the area. Ukraine and Romania have also agreed to develop border infrastructure and implement new transport projects.
