U.S. Military Spending on Iran May Reach $100 Billion
An internal assessment by the U.S. Department of Defense indicates that actual spending on military operations against Iran could reach as high as $100 billion, significantly exceeding the previously reported figure of around $30 billion. The discrepancy primarily arises from the official estimates not including undisclosed operational costs, losses of advanced fighter jets, and the costs associated with damage to military facilities in the Middle East. U.S. Senator Angus King expressed disappointment among the public over the lack of transparency regarding the actual costs of the war, mentioning the additional impacts on gasoline prices and other areas.
