$70 Million Bitcoin Movie Reignites Craig Wright Identity Controversy
A $70 million movie about Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto has entered post-production. The news of the film has sparked controversy in the cryptocurrency industry as Craig Wright is portrayed as the central figure in the Satoshi identity debate. The film is titled 'Bitcoin' and is directed by Doug Liman, featuring Gal Gadot, Casey Affleck, Pete Davidson, and Isla Fisher. TheWrap introduced the project as 'Bitcoin: Killing Satoshi,' reporting that Casey Affleck will play Wright. The film is produced in a thriller format related to Wright's claims of being Satoshi. The UK High Court is set to address Wright's claims in a lawsuit in 2024. The production cost was reduced to $70 million through the use of AI, and filming took place over 20 days. Gal Gadot stated that she has contracted to ensure AI does not interfere with her acting. The cryptocurrency industry is noting that Wright has been placed back at the center of the Satoshi debate, and the film's distributor has yet to be secured. The release date and distribution method remain undecided. While this film does not directly impact Bitcoin prices or network operations, it intertwines issues of the Satoshi identity controversy, AI production methods, and actor rights protection, making it a topic of debate.
