Bitcoin Weekly RSI Shows Bullish Divergence, Analysts Assess Bear Market Trend
On August 25, Bitcoin rebounded about 25% last week, briefly breaking through $80,000, with market sentiment divided on the trend direction. The weekly RSI for Bitcoin rose to 58.3, the highest level since reaching an all-time high of $126,200 in October 2025, showing a bullish divergence similar to the bottom phase of the bear market in 2022: prices continued to make lower lows while the weekly RSI formed higher lows. Jamie Coutts, Chief Crypto Analyst at Real Vision, pointed out that bullish divergence at the weekly level is valuable for assessing long-term trends and cycle turning points, as similar signals in history have been accompanied by price increases. Short-term indicators show signs of overheating, with the daily RSI for Bitcoin rising to 82.93, the highest level since November 2024. Some traders are wary of short-term pullback risks, but others believe that the RSI remaining above 70 in the overbought zone is not uncommon during historical bull markets. Additionally, Bitcoin's two-month Stochastic RSI recently formed a golden cross, typically seen as a potential bullish signal, but this time the indicator's low only touched 4.81, not dropping close to zero. Therefore, the market still needs to observe whether this rebound signifies the end of the macro bear market.
