EBRD to Support Financing for Ukrainian Businesses with €300 Million
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is considering two projects for ProCredit Bank totaling up to €330 million, including a hryvnia loan of up to €30 million and risk-sharing for loans to Ukrainian businesses amounting to €300 million. Approval for the projects is expected on September 9, 2026. The €30 million loan will be divided into three tranches of €10 million each, with the second and third tranches requiring additional approval. The funds will be directed towards lending to small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine, including €7.5 million for the modernization of technologies and equipment in accordance with EU standards, with at least 70% allocated to steel and green technologies. The second project includes a mechanism where the EBRD will partially cover the credit risks of ProCredit Bank for new loans up to €300 million, implemented in four tranches. Of the total amount, €240 million will go towards working capital and investments in critical sectors, while €60 million will be allocated for long-term business modernization. Priority sectors include agriculture, food industry, retail, and logistics. Support will be provided to enterprises affected by the war, veteran-owned businesses, and companies assisting in the reintegration of internally displaced persons.
