Michael Saylor Presents Strategy Plan, Stock Buyback Not a Priority
Michael Saylor, chairman of the board at Strategy, stated that the buyback of shares is not currently a priority. The company is focusing on building cash reserves, servicing STRC shares, and developing its lending business. A buyback of MSTR shares may occur if their price drops to an appropriate level. MSTR shares have lost about 38% this year and 73% year-on-year, which is related to the decline in Bitcoin prices and the issuance of new shares. Strategy has accumulated $4.8 billion in cash, providing financial flexibility and securing dividends for STRC holders. The management emphasized the need for flexibility regarding cryptocurrencies, being ready to buy and sell digital assets. The key indicator for purchases remains the average Bitcoin price over the last 200 weeks. Saylor ruled out acquiring traditional businesses for additional cash flows to avoid complicating the holding structure. Investors should be prepared for a time horizon of 4 to 10 years, despite frustrations related to the stock's depreciation.
