National AI Agent Available from December
President Lee Jae-myung announced that an AI agent service for all citizens will be available starting in December. The government emphasized the need to establish a basic platform and allow the private sector to compete. The AI agent will have the capability to prepare documents requested by users and submit them to relevant institutions. The Minister of Science and ICT explained that this service will support personalized policies in areas such as welfare, housing, and education. The AI agent will perform tasks such as information retrieval, document preparation, and procedural connections, and will be designed as an evolved form compared to existing chatbots. President Lee mentioned that the government should promote competition in the private sector rather than creating all services directly. He also added that issues related to data linkage and personal information protection must be resolved, and that it should be possible to verify personal information across different ministries. The independent AI model is the foundation of technological sovereignty, and the model from the team that participated in the project in the first half of this year has been registered with a U.S. AI research institution.
