Oil Exports from the Sheskharis Terminal Halted After Drone Attack
The export of crude oil from the Sheskharis terminal in Novorossiysk has been halted following a drone attack. The terminal, through which approximately 700,000 barrels of oil are transported daily, has ceased shipments as its tanks have filled up and it is no longer accepting new oil. The stoppage occurred on August 14. One of the tankers scheduled to load oil went out to sea after an attempted attack. In July, nearly 1 million barrels of oil were shipped through Novorossiysk daily, while in June, the figure was around 800,000 barrels. Russian grades Urals and Siberian Light, as well as Kazakh oil KEBCO, are exported, making disruptions at the port critical for supplies from Kazakhstan. This is not the first halt in oil exports from the Russian Black Sea coast recently; in July, drone attacks also temporarily suspended loading at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal.
