Ukraine to Introduce Automatic Gambling Restrictions for Military Personnel
PlayCity has announced a tender for the development of a module for the automatic verification and blocking of access to gambling for military personnel. The system will integrate the Register of Persons with Restricted Access to Games and the State Register of Military Personnel. Data exchange will be conducted through the 'Trembita' system. When a player registers or logs in, the gambling organizer will check the Restrictions Register and then refer to the military personnel register. If there are grounds for restriction, access to gambling will be blocked. The organizer will not receive information about the military status, only the result of the verification. After the module is developed, PlayCity and the Ministry of Defense will conduct system testing. Resolution No. 804 allocates six months from the date of publication (June 24, 2026) for setting up and verifying interaction, with the completion of this phase scheduled for December 24, 2026. After the signing of the act, the automatic restriction mechanism will officially operate. Currently, anyone can independently limit access to gambling for a period of 6 months to 3 years. Applications can be submitted by close relatives or legal representatives.
