BitMart — the exchange that served crypto traders for nine years — is closing. On July 26, 2026 it announced an orderly wind-down of its trading platform operations: all trading ends on August 26, 2026 at 01:00 UTC, and the platform officially ceases operations on January 31, 2027 at 15:59 UTC. If you hold funds, open positions, or Earn products on BitMart, this page walks through the timeline and how to withdraw in good time.

Update — the final week before the August 26 close: Two BitMart deadlines land that morning and they do different jobs. At 01:00 UTC on August 26, 2026 BitMart discontinues all spot, futures and other trading — that is the moment you stop being able to close a position at a price you choose. At 05:00 UTC the same day comes BitMart's recommended cut-off for having submitted your withdrawal requests, and that one is about queue position rather than a shutter coming down. August 26 does not end withdrawals. BitMart's notice says the withdrawal service remains available, and the platform itself does not cease operations until January 31, 2027 at 15:59 UTC — after which login access continues for a specified period to review records and submit further requests. If you hold futures, read BitMart's settlement line closely: it says positions still open when trading stops may be settled by the platform on the applicable mark price, index price or settlement rules in effect at the time — platform discretion, not a published formula, so close your own positions rather than rely on it. Late withdrawal requests go to a dedicated processing procedure whose specific arrangements BitMart says will be communicated separately; re-checked on August 19, 2026, they had not been. If you trade on both venues, note that a second exchange deadline lands three hours after BitMart's: BitMEX switches to reduce-only at 04:00 UTC the same morning, so the two jobs collide on one day.
The important thing first: BitMart says the withdrawal service remains available, describes the wind-down as orderly and transparent, and cites business reasons — "operating conditions, market environment, and future strategic direction" — not a hack or insolvency. But it also strongly recommends completing identity verification and closing all positions before August 26, 01:00 UTC, and submitting withdrawal requests before August 26, 05:00 UTC. Requests after that window move to a separate processing procedure whose details are not yet published — so act early, on your own schedule.
Withdrawals are open now and are processed broadly in order of submission — but requests can be routed to manual review: identity and KYC checks, login device and IP verification, withdrawal-address screening, source-of-funds review, Travel Rule and sanctions compliance, and requests for extra documentation where needed. BitMart notes that submitting a request does not mean it has been processed, and asks users not to submit duplicates. High volumes can extend processing times — one more reason not to wait for the deadline.
One more group who should act: if you have an old BitMart account you have not touched in years, note that accounts inactive for two years or more are charged monthly custody fees under a policy updated July 24, 2026 (1%/month at two to three years of inactivity, 2%/month beyond that, minimum 10 USDT) — and a single login before the monthly snapshot exempts that cycle. If you have forgotten funds on BitMart, log in and withdraw them now, while the process is routine.
BitMart's exchange token BMX fell approximately 58% in the 24 hours after the announcement, to around $0.08. As of July 26, 2026, no conversion, buyback, or compensation program for BMX holders has been announced. If that changes it will appear on BitMart's official channels — decisions about the token are yours alone, and this page offers no view on its price.
BitMart's own notice warns that impersonation scams increase during a shutdown. There are no paid "expedited processing" or priority-withdrawal services, no "account unfreezing fees," and no "security deposits" — anyone offering one is a scammer. Staff will never ask for your password, verification codes, private keys, or recovery phrase. Use only the official website, app, and support channels, and never send assets to a personal wallet address you were given in a chat.
With trading closing on August 26 — and new positions already blocked — the practical question is where to trade next. WEEX is a crypto derivatives exchange built around perpetual futures. Products are price exposure with leverage — leverage amplifies losses as well as gains, and derivative and tokenized products are designed to track a price and can deviate from it; understand these risks before trading. If WEEX fits, you can open an account and complete verification, deposit USDT, and check the futures market listing for the contracts available. See where BitMart traders are going next for how to choose a replacement venue.
All trading ends August 26, 2026 at 01:00 UTC. The platform officially ceases operations on January 31, 2027 at 15:59 UTC, with login access continuing for a further specified period for records and withdrawal requests.
BitMart describes the wind-down as orderly and transparent, keeps withdrawals open, and cites business reasons — no hack, insolvency, or enforcement action is claimed. The reason to act early is practical: recommended deadlines on August 26, manual-review queues that lengthen under load, and unspecified procedures for late requests.
Withdrawals do not stop — BitMart says late requests transfer to a dedicated processing procedure, with arrangements to be communicated separately. That procedure is not yet specified, which is itself a good reason not to rely on it.
Only in a limited way: since July 26 futures accounts are Reduce-Only and spot accepts no new orders. All trading ends August 26, 2026 at 01:00 UTC.
Any exchange that lists the markets you trade. WEEX is one futures-first option; compare venues on contract coverage, liquidity, fees and security before moving. You can create a WEEX account here.
No bankruptcy, hack, or enforcement action has been claimed. BitMart's official notice cites "operating conditions, market environment, and future strategic direction" — a business wind-down. Withdrawals remain available, with the recommended submission deadline of August 26, 2026, 05:00 UTC.
No — they are separate events in the same week. BitMEX announced its own shutdown on July 23, 2026, three days before BitMart, for its own stated reasons. If you also hold funds on BitMEX, see the BitMEX closure timeline and withdrawal guide.
