The AI core is Lumada. Under the "Inspire 2027" mid-term plan, Hitachi targets a FY2027 operating margin of 15% and, longer term, lifting Lumada to about 80% of revenue. In 2026 it has pushed "HMAX" physical AI and is co-developing generative-AI tools with Shionogi to help draft pharmaceutical regulatory documents. FY3/2026 posted revenue of ¥10,586.8 billion and record net income of ¥802.4 billion (announced April 2026), with FY3/2027 net-income guidance of ¥850 billion. The ¥50 dividend (yield about 1.06%) marks this as a growth/re-rating name, not an income stock.

How to read the stock

Hitachi did a 1-to-5 stock split in June 2024, so every price here is split-adjusted. The shares climbed from about ¥1,676 in July 2023 to a closing peak near ¥5,818 on February 9, 2026 (52-week high ¥6,039). The correction then took them to about ¥4,471 on June 30 before a July rebound to ¥4,717 at the July 17 close — roughly 23% off the peak, yet still about 3.5x the 2023 low. Bulls point to the digital-heavy portfolio, Lumada/HMAX, grid and data-center capex, record profit and the 15% margin target. Bears flag GEM's cyclicality, the ~25x forward multiple, FX and tariff sensitivity (the April 2025 dip), and conglomerate-discount skepticism. This page sets no price target.
