QTS Subsidiary Considers Additional Corporate Bond Issuance
QTS's data center subsidiary is reviewing the possibility of issuing additional corporate bonds while assessing demand from bond investors. The issuance has not yet been confirmed. As of the 12th, QTS subsidiaries are in contact with fixed-income investors, with Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, and Morgan Stanley coordinating investor discussions. The discussions are in the exploratory phase to confirm market demand, and details regarding the size, terms, and timing of the issuance have not been disclosed. QTS is a portfolio company of Blackstone, which agreed to acquire QTS Realty Trust for approximately $10 billion in June 2021. Previously, QTS issued $4.6 billion in green bonds maturing in April 2026, with a yield of 5.700%. In the past 12 months, QTS's bond issuance has exceeded $6 billion. If additional issuance occurs, the interest rates and terms from the April transaction may serve as a benchmark. Green bonds are used for environmentally friendly projects, with considerations for the data center's power usage and cooling efficiency. QTS's investor outreach is a process to gauge the acceptable volume and interest rate conditions in the market, with specific transaction details to be confirmed after the size and terms of the issuance are presented.
